This is one of the basic smoothie flavor combos you see everywhere. And no wonder, it is such a perfect combination. The sweetness of the banana and the freshness of the blueberries just work so well together. This Blueberry Banana Smoothie is a great breakfast or snack. I like to have this as a post-workout meal.
I topped this bowl with chia seeds. They are one of my favorite superfoods. Chia seeds a great source of Omega 3’s. I have noticed that when I add chia seeds into my smoothies I feel full for a lot longer. We all need those healthy fats.
I get a lot of questions about protein powders and if you really need to eat them. Supplements are not necessary if you are eating a healthy and well-balanced diet. I like to add a scoop of protein powder into my smoothies because that’s an easy way to get protein in the mornings. If I am having a bigger breakfast, for example, scrambled eggs with my smoothie, I don’t add protein powder into the smoothie because there is a lot of protein in the eggs. It is important to eat protein on every meal. If building muscles is your goal and you haven’t seen the results you want, make sure you are having a little bit of protein on every meal.
This Blueberry Banana Smoothie is my family’s favorite. It is just so yummy! It is also very easy to make. You’ll only need four ingredients for the smoothie.
